It’s not a place where Democrats have fared well as of late, but our client Richard Lindsey held on for a second time against the GOP wave that crushed most Democrats across Dixie in 2010 and again in 2014.
Lindsey, a farmer and businessman, had deep ties to the district and a profile that fit this rural area. A staunch supporter of public education and economic development, the typical GOP attacks didn’t work against this Democrat who supported gun rights, lower taxes, and a moderate approach on social issues.
Working with David Mowery of Mowery Consulting, we took a targeted approach to maximize Lindsey’s vote share in his home county, while a second wave of mail preempted the predictable GOP attacks in the outlying counties that were new to the district since reapportionment in 2011.
Congratulations to Representative Lindsey for holding this conservative seat and reminding us that district politics often matter more than partisan politics.
