Lumon May Makes It Happen

After a breakout legislative campaign in 2008, Lumon May took up the call again stepping up as a candidate for Escambia County Commission.
In a crowded primary, May outraised his opponents nearly 10 to 1, and on top of that, posted huge field numbers, often racking up over 500 doors knocked per weekend and hundreds of volunteer calls per week as well.
Our mail campaign focused on Lumon’s commitment to the district, his work creating jobs and equal access for minorities, and positioning him as a new leader for the African-American community in this predominantly minority district.
May goes on to face two more opponents in the general election, but with a 70% win in the Democratic primary, he is well-positioned to start the fall effort.
