After a “shellacking” taken by Democratic campaigns across the country, Impact Campaigns survived by holding four Democratic seats in Alabama, eleven in Florida, and four in North Carolina through direct and independent expenditure efforts.
In addition, two incumbents were taken out in municipal races in Pensacola, including our work to elect Ashton Hayward as the first “strong mayor” since a charter revision in 2009. All during the anti-Democratic, anti-progressive wave that swept the nation.
Our clients were able to ride out the storm by focusing on local issues and reminding the voters of their commitment to constituent service. Additionally, incumbents who survived did so by heeding our advice to not take anything for granted this cycle – max out fundraising, communications, and field. It worked.
