Training Activists

Persuasion mail and direct voter contact firm Impact Strategies recently participated in two statewide campaign training programs in Alabama and Florida, where Lead Strategist Travis Peterson taught activists on the basics of campaign planning and direct voter contact.

For the Alabama Democratic Party, Travis led four seminars on Campaign Planning for activists and candidates across the state. This training gave participants the basics of developing a campaign plan, writing a budget, allocating resources, and voter targeting. Travis also discussed campaign strategy and the basics of campaign persuasion mail.

For the Florida Association of Realtors, Travis joined a bipartisan team of political experts and brought his experience in direct voter contact, GOTV, and absentee voting programs to this growing political power in Florida.

This seminar outlined the recent and rapid changes in voter options for ballot-casting in Florida, and ways to timely deliver campaign messages to those voters, through door-to-door canvassing, persuasion mail, and phone banks.

“Sometimes having a clear plan, or a few well-trained volunteers, makes all the difference in winning and losing a legislative campaign,” said Peterson, “and we hope we’ve helped the Alabama Democrats and Florida Realtors start that process.”
